Frequently Asked Questions

🎤 For Singers

Can I sing at the Swabbies On The River Summer Residency?

You bet! We're bringing our full concert-grade sound system right onto the wooden stage at Swabbies On The River on the 3rd Tuesday of every month all summer long. June 16 is a Live Band Karaoke warm-up night, and River Idol takes the stage July 21, August 18, and September 15, 2026. There’s zero cover charge, the show runs from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and you get to front a real live rock band under the massive 60-foot oak trees. Grab a cold Pacifico, pick a song from the list, and let's go.

How does Live Band Karaoke work?

It’s simple: you browse our list of 200 songs, put your name down with the host, and grab a real wireless Shure mic. A full four-piece band (drums, bass, guitar, and keys) plays the actual song behind you in real-time. No cheap backing tracks or pre-recorded synthetic sounds—just pure, live instrument energy backing your vocals.

Do I need to be a good singer?

Heck no. This isn’t a high-stress vocal audition. It’s about having a blast on a Tuesday night. Whether you can hit every note perfectly or just want to scream out the chorus of 'Mr. Brightside' with a cold beer in hand, the band is there to support you, the lyrics are right in front of you, and the patio crowd of 300 regulars is always ready to sing along.

How do I pick a song?

Browse our online song catalog, filter by genre, decade, or difficulty, and find something you love. At events, our host will walk you through the process.

Can I see the lyrics while I sing?

Yes. We provide a confidence monitor with lyrics so you can focus on performing, not memorizing.

What if my song isn't on the list?

We're always adding new songs. If you don't see what you're looking for, reach out — we love requests and we'll let you know if we can add it.

Is the song list the same at every event?

Our catalog is 200 songs and growing. Song availability may vary by event type and setlist planning, but the full catalog is our working repertoire.

Can I do a duet?

Absolutely. Many songs in our catalog are flagged as duets or group singalongs. Grab a friend and share the stage.

Do you play the songs exactly like the originals?

Yes! We play the arrangements you’ve heard on the radio a thousand times. The intros, the bridge, the solos—they’re all there, played by real humans on real instruments. The physical thump of the kick drum and the warm guitar tone will make you feel like you're standing in front of a real arena crowd.
